Big news for bike fans, due governor Enrique Alfaro inaugurated this Wednesday October 2nd the new bike way in Puerto Vallarta.
This will cover along the avenue Francisco Medina Ascencio and represented an investment of 330 million of pesos. This cycle path has a total length of 2.7 miles.
Thus, governor stands out the importance city hall has for Jalisco state. With that, they are trying to develop tourism, sustainable mobility and health of citizens.
“Today, we are very happy in Vallarta because we are going to provide a work that we have worked for several years”, indicated Alfaro, who emphasized this cycling infrastructure “is part of the project of renovation of laterals of Avenida Medina Ascencio, a project that started from the idea of our friend Arturo Davalos, being municipal president”.
Bike way in Puerto Vallarta, an example of space rescue

“Road was in pieces and now we leave it with a work of hydraulic concrete. We invest 329 million of pesos to fix these 2.7 miles. It was worth it! It’s a work that even though took us a while, has changed the image of Puerto Vallarta”, confirmed the mayor.
On the other hand, cycling section has 3.1 miles, the total space intervened amounts a little more than these five, in accordance with the head of Secretaría de Infraestructura y Obra Pública (Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Work), David Zamora Bueno.
The officer emphasizes that lateral tracks (west and east) of avenue concluded with 1.70 and 1.6 miles respectively. It was intervened dirt roads and the base, while was implemented the paving with stamped concrete, the protected bike way, sidewalks, woodland, borders, hydro sanitary networks, lighting, storm drains and safe crossings.
Bike ways, necessary for tourism and mobility
The inauguration of the new bike way in Puerto Vallarta also assisted the former mayor, Arturo Davalos Peña and the president Luis Munguia.
The first of them was the one who asked the government of state to perform the cycle route, looking the remodeling of the main avenue.
For its part, Munguia said he totally agree that cycling projects of this type, revitalize city, besides, bike ways are essential to enable tourist and sustainable mobility.
In mobility matters, this cycle paths want to be integral and inclusive. For that, it has spaces that make comfortable and safe the journey of cyclists.
