Ixtapa Zihuatanejo bike path, a natural Paradise
Cyclists, runners and pedestrians can enjoy of a natural landscape to cover the Ixtapa bike way, at Zihuatanejo.
It’s the most variated and surprising bike way of Mexico (and world, maybe) thanks to the wonderful landscapes and views that offer during its 14 miles of length.
This bikeway is not just a shelter for people that want to disconnect from city stress, but a place to connect with flora and fauna and where savage life is present during all the way.
What you will see?
We are not kidding, when we say is the most diverse bike route of Mexico, during every pedal you will find several landscapes and animals.
To begin with, in some tracks, huge trees of 114 ft will surround you and these will make you feel inside of a leaf tunnel. This route crosses a rainforest with hujes, ceiba and guanaste tree.
We suggest you to cover these tracks without headphones to delight your ears with the song of birds at the top of a tree. Among some specimens you will see parakeets, woodpeckers, herons, parrots, cardinals, calandra larks, and others.
Terrestrial and marine fauna also exist on this bike lane; awake your senses when cycling and you will see armadillos, ferrets, squirrels, racoons, opossum and more.
Now, of course you will need hot blood to end the route, but you will also find cold blooded friends as, freshwater turtles, iguanas, and crocodiles.

Where Ixtapa bikeway pass by?
The Ixtapa Zihuatanejo bikeway is in sections. First of them measures 4.9 miles, starts from the Marina Ixtapa and continuous during 2.6 miles at one side of the Golf club, continues by Playa Linda and entries to Aztlan park, an ecologic reserve of 2.3 miles.
The second section is an independent track of 2.3 miles and this covers the road between Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa. Starts at a side of Tecnológico de la Costa Grande and ends on Paseo de los viveros.
Likewise, it was inaugurated a path network of around 3.7 miles in total, divided on three tracks, over the cerro La hedionda, next to laguna del negro. In this zone, hikers that love viewpoints will enjoy as never.

All this and more makes Ixtapa bikeway to be one of the best ones to pedal. Ideal for runners, skaters, bird observers, nature fans and people who want to live a unique experience.
Likewise, is a cyclist lane that due tourist importance, receives a constant maintenance. Also has cyclist signals to create safe paths; and this bike route has 9.8 ft width, making you feel comfortable when riding without crashing against another cyclist, runner or pedestrian.
You don’t have a bike? Don’t worry you can rent a bike during the track that covers the tropical route. If you’re tired, you can take a break on the rest area.
Ixtapa bike path, one of its kind
If you think, this isn’t enough, suffice to say that is the only bike path in Mexico with the environmental quality certification for tourism granted by the Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente de México.
