Where Will the Linear Park and Bike Path be Built?
Current plans suggest tha local authorities plan to make the most of every opportunity the El Insurgente project brings to the Toluca Valley. In particular, the initiative takes advantage of the corridors along the rail line to create new spaces for sustainable mobility and public use. As a result, these areas could be transformed into safer, more connected routes for cyclists and pedestrians.
As a result, the new linear park and bike path will be built along the central median where the El Insurgente Interurban Train runs, an area known as Alameda 2000. Specifically, both the linear park and the bike path will begin at the Zinacantepec Station and continue along Reyes Heroles and Ernesto Monroy streets.
