
For a bike path to be functional, must be build with the correct cyclist infrastructure, besides, must connect with other bike lanes, points of interest and public transport, features that bike lanes in Puebla don’t met.
For this reason, chosen governor, Alejandro Armenta, previewed that one of the aims during his government, will be interconnect the bike routes in Puebla. Pretending to impulse the use of non-motorized vehicles, in order to encourage people to use sustainable transports.
Likewise, as a way to ensure that everyone has the right to accessible transit, we will seek to improve infrastructure to ease the way for people with disabilities.
In that respect, Armenta recalled that during his term as Senator of the Republic, he was supporter of the General Law of Mobility and Road Safety. Thus, said that is a topic that he will continue developing directly in Puebla.

Bike ways will have maintenance and inter connectivity
Armenta said he is sure that the city has a great opportunity in terms of connectivity, over all with bike routes.
Due that, previewed that will evaluate the work of maintenance required for bike lanes that already exist.
He also mentioned, he’ll try to join all bike routes in Puebla to interconnect them.
The future governor highlights that, currently, these roads don’t connect to each other and don’t take their users to a convergence point. For that, mentioned that during his government his mission will be join them.
“We must connect bike paths, they don’t take you to any place, we are going to connect them.”

Bike ways in Puebla with technology
Armenta proposed bike routes in Puebla could be consulted through an app or other means. That is why, would be essential the creation of an app where anybody with smartphone can log in and check it.
“We are going to put them (bike routes) on a smartphone system or card, for citizen to know how to use them as a medium of communication.” said.
Accessible bike routes and streets for everyone
The chosen governor also stood out the importance of create more adequate and safe streets for people with disabilities. Thus, confirmed they will work on the access equipment to those with a limited mobility, as well as enhance ramps and signals to make use of sidewalks and parks.
In respect of people who wish to make use of the bike ways in Puebla, without having one; they will have the opportunity to rent one through the implementation of a bike rental system.
Although it doesn’t specify which companies are in charge of this, said that he is already in discussions with the next mayor, José Chedraui Budib, to implement it. By doing so, is expected to increase the use of non-motorized transports among citizens of Puebla, such as bikes, rollers skates and skateboards.
